Partial Panama Canal Transit from Playa Bonita - Shared

$167.00

Our tour begins at the Flamenco Marina. After check in, passengers board buses that will take them to the Gamboa area where the Panama Canal Authority's Dredging Division facilities are located. Once in Gamboa, passengers board the Pacific Queen to begin their canal tour. The partial Panama Canal tour begins at the northern entrance to the Culebra Cut, so named because its curves resemble a snake. The Pacific Queen navigates the 13.7 kilometers of the cut on its way to the Pedro Miguel Locks.

We will sail under the Centennial Bridge before entering the Pedro Miguel Locks. At Pedro Miguel Locks, the ship descends 9 meters to Miraflores Lake which is a small freshwater lake that separates the two locks on the Pacific side of the canal. We cross Lake Miraflores until we reach the Miraflores Locks where the boat descends a total of 18 meters in two stages. At the end of its descent, the Pacific Queen reaches the waters of the Pacific Ocean.

From there the boat sails to the Flamenco Marina where the passengers disembark. On the way to Flamenco, you can see the Bridge of the Americas, the spectacular Bay of Panama and the imposing buildings of Panama City.
